Houston-based rock band Black Math Experiment performs tonight at The Vortex, 2350 North 11th Street, in Beaumont, Texas.
The Black Math Experiment has become somewhat famous among horror fans thanks to their song “You Cannot Kill David Arquette." Legend has it that while promoting his horror fillm "The Tripper," Arquette tracked the band down and reportedly fed them cupcakes. In return, the band made Arquette an honorary member - and continue to honor him onstage with a framed photograph surrounded by candles.
The band's lineup includes Justin Nemeti/bass, Brian Coleman/drums, Bill Curtner/guitars, Christi Lain/vocals and Jef [yeah, with one F]/vocals.
Black Math Experiment lists My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult, Blondie, The Pixies, The Ramones and Devo among its musical influences.
If you've never been to The Vortex, what the hell are you waiting for? It's only one of the best live music venues in SETX, not to mention the best bar in Beaumont.
Showtime at The Vortex tonight is rumored to be around 10 p.m. and the cover is said to be $5. Give 'em a call at (409) 892-5766.
