Austin Chronicle screens editor: Fear The Walking Dead was originally planning to stay in Texas for season 8

 

An update to my post "Theory: Fear The Walking Dead production was always going to leave Texas" posted Nov. 14: Richard Whittaker, screens editor for the Austin Chronicle, shared some insight and information on the topic.

Whittaker posted on Twitter Nov. 12 about "Fear the Walking Dead" leaving Austin, Texas and relocating to Georgia. I replied Nov. 14 "Theory: Was leaving Texas always part of the plan for FearTWD? along with a link to my blog post.

Whittaker @YorkshireTX replied: "No. They were already location scouting in Texas for season 8 along the coast, and had another year on their studio lease in Austin."

He added: "I've had both confirmed by sources."

Producers of "Fear The Walking Dead" have yet to comment on the series leaving Texas.
